The CGU Biogeosciences Section was started in May 2009 following approval at the 2009 CGU Annual General Meeting held in Toronto. The principal purposes of the CGU-Biogeosciences Section are to promote the discipline within the greater Canadian geophysical community, to foster collegiality and cooperation among biogeoscience researchers, to promote student participation in biogeoscience research, and to provide a platform for the timely dissemination of research results through conference special sessions, workshops, and other related means.
CGU Annual Meeting 2012: The Biogeosciences Section will offer a $500 best student paper award. To apply for this award, a student must submit a 3-page extended abstract to Dr. Altaf Arain before April 1, 2012. Biogeosciences Section Executive
